Celebrating Innovation and Excellence: A Spotlight on Surplus Two Way Radios at IWCE
At the annual Vertex Standard customer event, marking their 60th anniversary during the IWCE show, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ozzie Ansari, the President of Surplus Two Way Radios. The company, founded in 1999 and based in California, is not only a renowned two-way radio dealer and authorized warranty service center but also a pioneering system provider. This year, they were honored with the prestigious Channel Partner of the Year award, a testament to their significant contributions and dedication to the industry.
A Journey from Passion to Innovation
Ozzie’s journey began in a corporate setting, but his passion for radios turned his hobby of refurbishing equipment from police and surplus auctions into a flourishing business. Starting in his garage, he meticulously reconditioned used radios, evolving his business over the years. By 2008, his part-time venture had transformed into a full-fledged operation in Santa Ana, California, transitioning from used radios to offering a wide array of new products.
Today, Surplus Two Way Radios stands out not just for its product offerings but also for its unique services. Beyond sales, they provide rentals and an in-house lease program that includes equipment and airtime on their network, catering primarily to sectors like education, security, and hospitality.
Embracing New Opportunities with Vertex Standard
At the event, Vertex Standard unveiled several exciting new products, which Ozzie believes will significantly meet the evolving needs of the educational sector. He shared his enthusiasm about the new solutions, particularly their size and usability, addressing common concerns among educators about the cumbersome nature of traditional equipment. "The feedback was clear—they wanted something less intrusive, and Vertex Standard delivered," Ozzie remarked.
This innovation is particularly promising for Surplus Two Way Radios, as they look forward to integrating these new products into their offerings. With a team member who is a former teacher, they possess a unique insight into the educational industry’s specific needs, further enhancing their ability to serve this market effectively.
Looking Ahead
As Surplus Two Way Radios continues to adapt and grow, their commitment to providing high-quality, user-friendly solutions remains unwavering. With new products on the horizon, the future looks bright not only for them but for the entire ecosystem of users they support.
Ozzie ended our conversation with a note of optimism, excited about the potential to further revolutionize communication within key sectors with these innovative tools. "Giving people what they want leads to success, and we’re poised to continue that tradition," he concluded.
Stay tuned to Surplus Two Way Radios as they set new benchmarks in the industry and continue to deliver excellence in every endeavor.
