Security Camera & Surveillance System Installation, Upgrade, and Maintenance Services
Authorized dealer for trusted brands. Certified installation, ongoing service, and full system support.
Surplus Two Way Radios designs, installs, upgrades, and maintains commercial security camera and surveillance systems for businesses, schools, warehouses, retail locations, and government facilities. Whether you are deploying a brand-new IP camera network, migrating from an aging analog DVR setup, or keeping an existing system running at peak performance, our certified technicians handle the project end to end.
We are an authorized dealer for leading surveillance manufacturers, including GeoVision. That means direct access to the current product, manufacturer warranty coverage, and trained technicians who actually know the equipment they're installing.
Based in Santa Ana, California, we serve Orange County and the greater Southern California region locally, with installation and service support available nationwide for multi-site customers.

Brands We Work With
We carry and service equipment from established, NDAA-compliant manufacturers. Our current authorized partnerships include:
- GeoVision (authorized dealer): IP cameras, NVR and VMS software, access control hardware, license plate recognition, and network accessories. GeoVision is widely used in retail, warehouse, government, and education environments and is on the NDAA-approved manufacturer list.
We are continuing to expand our manufacturer relationships. If you have a preferred brand, ask us about availability before you order. We can typically source through authorized channels and provide installation and ongoing support regardless of where the equipment was purchased.
Our Services
We support the full lifecycle of your surveillance investment.
Surveillance System Installation
Turnkey installation of IP cameras, network video recorders, video management software, and access control hardware. Every install starts with a site survey, so cameras land where they actually do work, not just where the wiring is easy. We handle low-voltage cabling, PoE switch configuration, NVR setup, network hardening, and remote-access provisioning.
What's included:
- On-site survey and surveillance design
- Camera placement, mounting, and aiming
- Cat6, fiber, and PoE infrastructure
- NVR or VMS configuration (for example, GeoVision GV-VMS or GV-NVR)
- Mobile and remote-viewing setup
- End-user and admin training before we leave
System Upgrades & Migrations
Most calls we get aren't about brand-new builds. They're about systems that were great five or ten years ago and are now hitting their limits. We upgrade legacy analog DVR systems to modern IP, migrate from end-of-life recorder hardware, expand channel counts, and add AI analytics to existing deployments.
Common upgrade projects:
- Analog or HD-CVI/TVI DVR to modern IP NVR
- Resolution upgrades (1MP or 2MP to 4K, AI-enabled cameras)
- Adding centralized multi-site management to an existing single-site system
- License plate recognition (LPR) add-ons for parking and gated entry
- Storage expansion and RAID rebuilds
- Firmware upgrades across multi-site deployments
Maintenance & Service
A surveillance system is only useful if the footage is actually there when you need it. Our maintenance plans keep cameras clean and aligned, drives healthy, firmware current, and footage actually retrievable. We offer one-time service calls, scheduled preventative maintenance, and ongoing service agreements with priority response.
Maintenance covers:
- Camera lens cleaning, refocusing, and re-aiming
- NVR and VMS health checks and storage diagnostics
- Firmware and software updates
- User-permission audits
- Failed-component replacement (cameras, drives, PoE switches)
- Remote troubleshooting and configuration changes
Network Camera Configuration & Integration
Surveillance lives on your network now, and a poorly configured surveillance VLAN is a security risk in itself. We configure cameras and recorders for proper network segmentation, secure remote access, dynamic DNS, mobile app provisioning, multi-site centralized management, and integration with third-party ONVIF cameras when needed.
Our Process
We follow the same process whether your project is a four-camera retrofit or a 200-channel multi-site rollout.
- Initial consultation: Tell us what you're protecting and what's driving the project (new build, expansion, theft incident, insurance requirement, compliance need). We can usually scope a project on the phone and tell you whether you need a full site survey or if a remote estimate is enough.
- Site survey and assessment: We walk the property, map sightlines, identify lighting and weather considerations, audit your existing network, and document any infrastructure already in place.
- System design and quote: You get a written proposal with camera models, recorder specs, network diagram, scope of work, and a flat-rate quote. No vague estimates and no surprise line items.
- Procurement: We source equipment directly from authorized channels, so you're not waiting on grey-market hardware or backorders from third parties.
- Installation: Cabling, mounting, recorder setup, network configuration, mobile and remote access provisioning, and a full bench test of every channel before we leave.
- Training: Walk-through with your team on live view, playback, exporting clips, user permissions, and basic troubleshooting.
- Ongoing support: Remote troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance, firmware updates, and on-site service whenever you need it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What brands of security cameras do you install? We're an authorized dealer for GeoVision and are continuing to add manufacturer partnerships. We can also service most major brands of existing equipment. If you have a specific brand in mind, contact us before you order so we can confirm availability and the right install path.
Are your cameras NDAA-compliant? The brands we currently carry, including GeoVision, are NDAA-approved. That makes them suitable for federal, state, and local government projects, public schools, and federally funded facilities that require NDAA-compliant equipment. We can confirm compliance on any specific model before you commit.
Can you upgrade my existing analog DVR system to IP cameras? In most cases, yes. We can typically reuse much of your existing coaxial cabling using video-over-coax adapters, or run new Cat6 PoE for higher-resolution IP cameras. We'll evaluate your site, recommend the right migration path, and quote it as either a phased upgrade or a full replacement.
Do you service systems you didn't install? Yes. We service surveillance installations from any source. Bring us in for a one-time service call or set up an ongoing maintenance agreement.
Will new cameras work with my existing recorder, or vice versa? Often, yes. Most modern NVR and VMS software is ONVIF-compatible and supports a wide range of third-party IP cameras. We'll confirm compatibility during the site survey before recommending a hybrid approach.
Do you offer remote monitoring and mobile access? Yes. We configure mobile apps for iOS and Android, secure remote browser access, and centralized multi-site management when your deployment calls for it.
How much does a surveillance installation cost? Cost depends on camera count, camera type, cable runs, recorder specs, and integration complexity. We provide a written, itemized quote after the site survey. Never a vague estimate.
Do you offer maintenance contracts? Yes. We offer scheduled preventative maintenance plans with priority response, software and firmware update coverage, and discounted service rates. Ask about plans during your quote.
Where are you located, and how far do you travel for service? Our facility is at 1516 S. Grand Ave., Santa Ana, CA. We provide local on-site service throughout Southern California and offer installation support nationwide for multi-site customers.
